Susan Worner Tours

Welcome to Susan Worner Tours

As spring turns to summer in northern climes, and gardens and countryside are filled with life and light, there is much to look forward to – particularly in the natural world. Encouragingly, there has been important progress in combatting Covid-19, and there is a gradual opening up in some areas.

However, progress has been quite uneven. As you will understand from government updates in the UK, and the latest news from Europe, it is not possible to go ahead with our tours planned for spring/summer 2021. We have also postponed the programme for southern Africa, including our bespoke tours in Namibia and Botswana, until 2022.

At Susan Worner Tours, we take the utmost care of our clients’ welfare and concerns. We are constantly monitoring the situation regarding travel and any changes to government advisories in the UK and overseas. We remain hopeful that we will be able to offer a selected programme starting in the autumn, subject to a relaxation of Covid-related restrictions. We will continue to keep you informed as the situation develops.

You may rest assured of our commitment to maintaining our distinctive approach to travel. It is a hallmark of the company that we make every effort to uphold and even improve on our standards. We pay meticulous attention to detail, always finding special extras to include in the programme.

It will be a great pleasure to have you join us as we set out once again to discover outstanding gardens and landscapes in Europe and southern Africa.

PORTUGAL

Gardens of Lisbon, Sintra and the Douro Valley

27 September – 04 October 2021

NEWS UPDATE: Portugal is on the British Government’s “Green List” for passengers travelling from England with effect from 17 May 2021, with the rest of Great Britain expected to follow soon after*

Our Portugal garden tour features a selection of exceptional gardens and wine estates. We discover a wealth of styles and influences, including Moorish walled gardens with their ceramic tiles, pools and citrus trees, formal designs with parterres, and the great gardens in Sintra landscaped in the Romantic style. Magnificent collections of trees are also a notable feature. The tour culminates with visits to gardens and wine estates of the Douro Valley, where we taste the produce of this most beautiful region of the country.
