Our garden tours in France, Italy and Portugal combine privileged access to private gardens with visits to botanical collections, wine estates and sites of cultural interest. In Morocco, we discover urban courtyard gardens and rural estates, and travel to the Atlas Mountains. Southern Africa offers journeys through extraordinary landscapes, and visits to selected wildlife reserves and coastal areas. To these we add a number of superb gardens during our tour in the Western Cape.
We also offer a range of bespoke tours for groups of up to eight family members or friends in Namibia and Botswana, accompanied by our expert guide. They are a chance to explore some of Africa’s most exceptional – and less visited – areas for scenery and wildlife.
At Susan Worner Tours, we are mindful of the significant changes in circumstances surrounding travel since early in 2020. We continue to monitor closely the situation regarding Covid-19, as well as changes in government advisories in the UK and overseas. We fully understand our clients may have concerns as these changes occur, and we will try our best to accommodate alterations in plans if the need arises.
It is a hallmark of the company that we take great care to uphold and even improve on our standards. We pay meticulous attention to detail, always finding special extras to include in the programme. We are delighted to welcome many participants who have been with us before. Groups have a maximum of sixteen participants for garden tours and just eight for our South Africa and Namibian tours: In our experience, keeping numbers small ensures the tours are a great success.
We are confident there is much to look forward to in 2021. Please rest assured we shall do all we can to ensure an enjoyable holiday for you.
Normandy – Gardens of Upper Normandy & Picardy.
12 -17 September 2020
The region has a wealth of remarkable gardens, some contemporary in design, while others are laid out as traditional walled gardens. All are privately owned. Our tour offers a chance to discover some beautiful properties, with exceptional designs and planting, in one of the country’s richest agricultural areas.
NEW Avignon – Cuisine, Markets and Gardens of Provence.
19 – 24 October 2020
Our tour is centred on the tastes and flavours of Provence. It combines an irresistible blend of visits to producers and markets with cooking demonstrations and an opportunity to enjoy hands-on experience in the Michelin-starred kitchen of Hotel La Mirande. Autumn is an ideal time to visit: the days are warm and mellow, and nature’s colours and produce are richly rewarding.
